Calling all Quinqs who have celebrated their 50th Reunion!

Vanderbilt invites all alumni who have celebrated their 50th Reunion (Classes of 1973 and prior) back on campus to reconnect and reminisce in the place that means so much to you. We are thrilled to announce an enhanced Reunion and Homecoming program for all Quinqs, and the classes of 1964 and 1969 will receive special recognition as they celebrate their 55th or 60th Reunions, respectively.

  • Quinq Welcome Reception

    Thursday, November 7 | 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    Location: Student Life Center, Commodore Ballroom; 310 25th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37240. Valet parking available at 2401 Vanderbilt Pl, Nashville TN 37212.

     

    ALL alumni who have already celebrated their 50th Reunion are invited back to campus to celebrate Reunion and Homecoming Weekend!

    Quinqs, start your weekend at a reception honoring you, where you will receive your special "Quinq Medallion" to wear to all Quinq events. Don't miss this special opportunity to kick-off Reunion weekend, hear from University Leadership, and receive your medallion while enjoying music, refreshments, and hors d'oeuvres.

  • Quinq Dinner Highlighting the 55th and 60th Reunions

    All classes who have celebrated their 50th Reunion are invited to reconnect with classmates and friends at the inaugural Quinq dinner. The classes of 1964 and 1969 will receive special recognition as they celebrate their 55th or 60th Reunion. Share Vanderbilt memories and make new ones during this seated dinner!

    Aging and the Brain: A Natural Part of Life

    Join Dr. William Petrie, BA’68, MD’72, Emeritus Professor, for an engaging conversation on the subject of aging and the brain. Dr. Petrie has spent much of his career in the treatment and research of age-related neuro-degenerative illnesses, such as Alzheimer’s disease. He has conducted investigational treatments and at Vanderbilt, focused on behavioral and cognitive aspects of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, frontotemporal and other dementing disorders.

    A special interest has been the effects of lifestyle modifications and risk factors for diseases of aging and what can be done to improve our future.

    Music of the 1970s

    This talk will explore the musical sounds of the 1970s as a reflection of and shaping force on the decade. Through an interdisciplinary study, participants will gain a better understanding of the ways the decade's music was both a direct expression of the cultural context in which it was produced and a profound influence on the trajectory of musical sound and popular culture in the 20th and 21st centuries.

    Robert Fry is a principal senior lecturer in musicology and ethnomusicology at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, where he teaches courses in global music, popular music, fandom, and music tourism. His research focuses on tourism and the role of fandom in the production of a musical place, which he has written about in articles, edited volumes, and his book, Performing Nashville: Music Tourism and Country Music’s Main Street.

  • Quinq Brunch and 50th Reunion Induction

    Following the 50th Reunion Commodore Classroom, wrap up your weekend with a brunch honoring the Class of 1974. All Quinqs are invited to attend this special event!

Parking and Shuttle Information for Friday Quinq Dinner and Reception

Valet parking is available at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel (2100 West End Ave, Nashville, TN) in order to take a shuttle to the Embassy Suites for the event.

Complimentary shuttles will be available for those attending this event. Shuttles will depart from the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, beginning at 5:15 p.m. Pick up from the Embassy Suites to return to the Loews Vanderbilt will begin at 9:30pm, with the last shuttle departing from the Embassy Suites to the Loews Vanderbilt at 10:30 p.m.

Ride Share via Lyft, with the code "VUREUNION24", is available and complimentary up to $25.

Registration Instructions

  1. Visit the Reunion Registration site (Click Here) and select "Register Now"
  2. Fill out the Primary Registrant information fields (name, class year, address, etc).
  3. Add guests. 
  4. Select "Quinq Alumni + Guests" package.
  5. Make event selections from the popular Quinq events listed. Use the Continue button at the bottom of the screen to move through the registration form. There is an opportunity to make a class gift before the check-out page.
  6. Submit payment. Payment must be completed to secure registration. At this time, we only accept online payment via credit card. 
  7. Check your email for registration confirmation. Save for future reference at Reunion. 
  8. Registration is complete. See you in November!

  • Class of 1968 Gathering

    Friday, November 8 | 12:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.
    Location: Sarratt Student Center, 1st Floor, Room 189, 2301 Vanderbilt Place, Nashville, TN 37240 

    Hosts Anne Meckstroth Menter and Paul Kurtz invite classmates from 1968 to pick up a lunch and come together for an informal gathering in Room 189 of Sarratt. During a busy Reunion weekend, this is the perfect opportunity for our class to have some time to say hello and catch up on life. Lunches are available nearby by signing up for the Homecoming Block Party on your Reunion registration, but no registration is needed for this. Your guests are welcome to come too. We can’t wait to see you!

Reunion Checklist

Follow these five steps to get ready for Reunion weekend! 

  1. Register to Attend (or send your regrets)
    Reunion registration is open! Visit our Registration page for additional information. (P.S. If you know you are unable to attend Reunion Weekend, please let us know by sending regrets - and we hope to see you at a future Reunion!) 
  2. Book Your Travel
    Find Reunion Hotel Blocks and make flight reservations as soon as possible, as Nashville is very busy in the fall. Note that Reunion is a four-day event and plan accordingly!
  3. Review Arrival Information
    Plan for your arrival to Reunion event by viewing the "Arrival Information" page for check-in locations, parking information and shuttle details - with more information to be added, so check back often!
  4. View the Reunion Weekend Schedule of Events
    See what we have in store by visiting the Main Schedule of Events, hosted by the Reunion Office. Be sure to check out "Additional Events" hosted by our campus partners, and "Greek Events" hosted by the Greek organizations. There are many opportunity to reminisce, remember and reconnect!
  5. Spread the Word
