50th Anniversary
Reunion Celebration

Our 50th Vanderbilt School of Medicine Reunion is set for Oct. 15–17, 2026, so mark your calendars and learn more at vu.edu/vusmreunion.

This reunion will be a unique opportunity to gather and reflect on how we became doctors after four very challenging years of medical school. For many of us, classmate friendships were particularly meaningful, and in many cases continue to this day. For all of us, here’s an opportunity to reconnect with classmates you may not have seen for 50 years.

Faculty were instrumental to our education and career choices. Dean John Chapman welcomed us at the start of medical school and congratulated us upon graduation. In Anatomy, we were taught by the diametrically opposite duo of Jack Davies and Benton Adkins. Our mentors were memorable — Tom Brittingham’s meticulous patient histories, Robert Collins’s lectures in pathology, Phil Felts’s diabetic-induced rats, Millie Stahlman’s steely blue eyes in the neonatal unit.

The cornerstone event will be our Quinq Ceremony. This year marks our induction as Quinqs, a monumental milestone as we are honored for celebrating our 50th Reunion. It’s the ultimate opportunity to share a meal, trade stories and toast to the years that have passed since graduation.

Reunion is also a great chance to look to the future. Even if you are unable to attend, you can participate by making a Reunion gift. Every gift and pledge, of any size and type, counts toward our Reunion totals. To help attract the brightest students and alleviate their financial burden, our class established the 1976 School of Medicine Class Scholarship, which supports the next generation of talented VUSM scholars. Since its inception, the fund has grown to more than $595,000 and on average supports 2 students every year. To make a gift to our class scholarship fund, or any fund within VUSM, simply visit vu.edu/vusmreuniongift.

We hope you are able to join us this fall!

Sincerely,

Richard Cannon, BA’72, MD’76
John Greer, BA’72, MD’76
